Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about free core, mobile access, pay-what-you-can support, advanced packages, privacy, and setup.
Is MemberTap really free?
Yes. MemberTap Core is free forever for churches. The free core includes the mobile connect card, QR hub, people list, basic follow-up queue, and basic dashboard.
What does pay what you can mean?
Churches can use Core for free. If a church, leader, or supporter wants to help, they can make a one-time or recurring gift. Every gift helps us improve the product and make it available to more churches.
Do we need a desktop computer?
No. MemberTap Core is mobile first. Your team can use the core workflow from a browser on a phone during service, at the welcome table, or throughout the week. Desktop is available if your team prefers it, but it is not required for Core.
How does MemberTap work?
MemberTap gives your team a simple public connect card, QR hub, people list, follow-up queue, and basic dashboard so staff and volunteers can help people take next steps.
How long does setup take?
Most churches can start quickly with the free core: create an account, share the join link or QR code, and review new connections from the dashboard.
What features are paid?
Advanced tools like Wallet, NFC tap locations, SMS setup, events, check-in, points, custom branding, multi-campus rollout, imports, and training are handled through paid setup or advanced packages.
Can we migrate existing member data?
Yes. Data migration is available as part of paid setup when your church wants help bringing existing records into MemberTap.
Do we need a separate mobile app?
No. MemberTap works in the browser. Guests can use the connect card from their phones without downloading an app.
Do you integrate with Planning Center, Breeze, Rock, or Tithe.ly?
Integrations are part of the advanced roadmap and paid setup conversations. The free core is intentionally simple and does not require a ChMS integration to start.
Who owns member data and prayer requests?
Your church owns its data. MemberTap processes data as your service provider to support connection, follow-up, and church engagement workflows.
Where can we review terms and privacy details?
You can view all legal documents in the Legal Center, including Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
